The Town Board has adopted
a 2015 Budget that maintains
services at 2014 levels AND
a tax rate at .90 per thousand
(fourth consecutive year!). Spe-
cial thanks to all those who at-
tended the public hearing and/or
sawme to express your opinion.

to a variety of town, village and
community staff and volunteers
forassistingmeagreatdealat the
half waymark of my term. This
year, atThanksgiving time, Iwas
reflectingonhow fortunate Ihave
been tohavesuchanoutstanding
board toworkwith.Over the last
three years, they have amassed
quite a list of accomplishments:
- Maintained a consistent tax
rate, despite declining revenue
sources,without reducingservices
-WorkedwithEPA/DEC/Con-
gressional leaders to remove old
debris and continue testing at
the former RR derailment site
(special thanks to leadership from
CouncilmanStella)
- Greatly enhanced our web
site (withmore improvements to
come) forpublic informationand
transparency
- Cleanedupbudget indebted-
ness and receivedvery favorable
audits for such
- Settled longstanding Water
District issue in the Southwest
quadrant (special thanks to lead-
ership fromCouncilwomanKelly
Lathan)
-Updated entireTownCode
- Establishedahighwayequip-
ment replacement schedulewith
proper reservebudgetallocations
(special thanks to leadership from
CouncilmanDavePaddock)
- Consolidated positions
through attrition and hired new
personnel (special thanks to
leadershipfromCouncilmanJohn
Armitage)
- Assisted with financial and
work service support for com-
munity celebrations such as the
Bicentennial,LeRoynightatDw-
yer Stadium, andOatkaFestival
- Increased budget support to-
ward adult and youth recreation
and cemetery repairs
This is just a short list of your
board’seffortsover the last three
years. We are still working on a
revision to the Comprehensive
Plan, renovations to the Steam
Shovel,EDCCommercialProject
(special thanks to leadership from
our County Legislator Shelley
Stein), and reducing operating
costs in several other areas.
