Le Roy Pee Wee Knights Submitted by: Steve Kochmanski The LeRoy peewee Knights headed to Letchworth Saturday for a high noon showdown against the Genesee Valley Bills (GVB). The Knights offense took the field first at their 35 yard line looking to get on the scoreboard early. The GVB defense had other plans as they forced a LeRoy punt after 6 plays. The Knight defense stacked up the GVB offense forcing three negative plays and a GVB punt. The Knights fumbled on the next play and gave the GVB offense a gift as they took over on the Knight 48 yard line. The Knights philosophy of gang tackling forced GVB to turn it over on downs at the Knight 44. After runs by Stiles, Goodenough and newly minted FB Warner the offense got on a roll as Mosko scores a Knight TOUCHDOWN from 8 yards out. Warner adds the P.A.T. 8-0 LeRoy! The GVB offense needed a spark and they found it in their big back (#2) as they would gain a first down. The Knight defense picked up the hitting and team tackling, forcing a third and long. On a run up the middle that the Knights seem to have stopped up (#2) breaks outside for a 57 yard GVB touchdown. P.A.T. failed making it 8-6 LeRoy. The LeRoy offense wouldn’t take long to answer as John “HAWKEYE” Bogan would score on a 65 yard run down the Knight sideline only to be nullified by a Knight penalty. Backed up, the Knights get a boost by a Carson “NUTTER” Stiles 21 yard run. Back to back runs by Roland “STIFF ARM” Goodenough gives the Knights another TOUCHDOWN! P.A.T. failed extending the lead 14-6. GVB would go on a five play drive taking the ball to the LeRoy 38 with time running out in the half. LeRoy’s Mosko forced a fumble as Kochmanski recovers to end the half. The LeRoy defense forced a three and out to start the second half. After a 46 yard Goodenough run the GVB defense would force a turnover on downs and take over on their own 11. GVB struggled all day with bad snaps and the defense would take advantage, as Kochmanski would make a tackle in the endzone for a Knight’s safety!! LeRoy 16-6. Following the safety the Knights have the ball at their 45 yard line. Stellar offensive line play by the seven trenchmen of LeRoy ( Jackson Hubbard,Luke Offen, Jesse Hubbard, Koc hmanski,Warner,Bogan,Sin gleton) allowed for another Goodenough TOUCHDOWN! The P.A.T. failed leaving the score 22-6 LeRoy. The defense stonewalled GVB on the next drive causing negative yards and a fumble recovery. On the third play of the ensuing LeRoy drive Bogan takes the handoff from Beachel and scores from 8 yards out with no laundry on the field this time!! A Stiles P.A.T. makes it LeRoy 30-6!! The eleven boys from LeRoy playing ironman football held GVB to negative yards in the second half to bring their record to 5-0!! The Knights feeding on teamwork and grit head to Bath Saturday.
