LE ROY PENNYSAVER & NEWS - OCTOBER 7, 2018 LeRoy Senior Knights 32, Livonia Bulldogs 0 Submitted by: Tim Spezzano The Senior Knights improved to 5-0 with a 32-0 win at host Livonia, under the lights on Saturday night. Livonia won the toss and chose to receive the ball. On Noah Kaczanowski’s opening kick off, Jude Sherman would make an open field tackle giving Livonia 1st down and 10 at their own 45 yard line. Holden Sullivan, DJ O’Geen, Zander Staba, Joey Rescke & Jude Sherman would all get in on the fun early, leaving Livonia with an early 4th down try. On 4th and 3, Adam, “Bucha”, Woodworth would come up with a big stop behind the line giving the Knights’ offense their first chance with the ball from the 50 yard line. Following a 10 yard carry by Jake Higgins and an 8 yard carry for Jude Sherman, Alex Spezzano and Adam Woodworth would connect on a swing pass that Woodworth would take untouched, 32 yards, for the touchdown. Alex Spezzano then hit Zander Staba in the corner of the end zone for the PAT. LeRoy 8, Livonia 0. The LeRoy defense would force another 3 and out after the ensuing kick off. Tackles by Wyatt Draper and Cameron Riggi on 1st down followed by Brayden Chase and Peter Clark on 2nd and 3rd would set up 4th down for the Bulldogs. Cole Tonzi and Jude Sherman would team up for the stop giving LeRoy the ball back at their own 40 yard line. Jude Sherman would get the drive started with tough 14 yard scamper followed by Bucha Woodworth for 8 yards. Then, on 2nd down and 2, Jake Higgins broke free around the right end and sped 34 yards for the score. LeRoy 14, Livonia 0. Following another Noah Kaczanowski kick off, Livonia would begin their next drive at their own 41. 3 plays and out once again for the Bulldogs as the LeRoy defense was led on this possession by Jack Egeling, Adam Woodworth and DJ O’Geen. Taking over the ball at the Livonia 25, LeRoy would overcome a couple of penalties as the line continued to block and carries of 7 yards by Jake Higgins and 15 and 4 yards by Jude Sherman set up LeRoy at the 6 yard line. Adam, “Bucha” Woodworth would punch it in from 6 yards out for his second score of the day. LeRoy 20, Livonia 0. LeRoy would get the ball to start the second half with Cole Tonzi and Joey Reschke getting into the action with carries of 4 yards and 2 yards respectively before LeRoy turned the ball over on downs. However, on the very next play, Adam Woodworth would recover a Livonia fumble, giving the Knights the ball right back at the Livonia 43 yard line. LeRoy would take 9 plays to punch it in this time, with Jude Sherman finishing it off with a 10 yard touchdown run. LeRoy 26, Livonia 0. The final score of the day would come after LeRoy turned the Bulldogs over on downs deep in Livonia territory when Adam, Bucha, Woodworth scored from 7 yards out to make the final score, LeRoy 32, Livonia 0. Leading the Knights on offense was Adam Woodworth with 74 yards and 3 touchdowns. Jake Higgins scored a touchdown to go with his 58 yards on 4 carries and Jude Sherman with 49 yards and a TD. Noah Kaczanowski gained 38 yards, Jack Egeling 28 yards, Joey Reschke 14 yards and Cole Tonzi gained 4 yards on his only carry. Jude Sherman led the LeRoy defense with 5.5 tackles, followed by Jake Higgins with 4.5, Adam Woodworth with 4 and a fumble recovery and DJ O’Geen with 4. Jayce Panepento recorded 3 tackles as did Jayce Jedrewski, Jack Egeling and Zander Staba, who also had a pass deflection. With 2 tackles each were Holden Sullivan, Joey Reschke, Wyatt Draper, Cameron Riggi, Peter Clark and Cameron Wilson. Brayden Chase, Cole Tonzi, Colin Kazmierczak, and Grady Gilligan all recorded a tackle each.
