Thanks to the LeRoy Business Council and all the sponsors. There is a lot of appreciation to go around. Recent Fire Chief Tim Hogle has past the leadership back to TomWood, thanks and great job Tim. Another icon of LeRoy is retiring, Dr. Anthony Gugino is giving up his practice, between Tony and his father the Gugino family has been taking care of dental needs for LeRoy over 66 years, your service will be sadly missed, Thank You. Clarky Vescovi has passed away over the last week, he was the face of the American Legion, his smile and service will be sadly missed. 2018 was a good year for the village, along with the day to day up keep, old jobs came to completion. The wall in the alley way on the south side of Main Street was repaired, this project greeted me in my first term as a trustee 14 years ago. We received our zero percent interest and a 2.25 million grant for our Wastewater Treatment Plant, which has needed improvements for years. We have a major project coming to Mill Street that will really turn that whole neighborhood around. Lastly and our most recent project was the replacement of the dam gates. Bob Lathan deserves a great deal of credit for taking the lead on this project, his effort saved the village over 100,000 dollars and actually came in under budget by $20,000. This project, was fully funded project by Genesee County Soil and Water. Many people had a hand in the success of this project, Andrew Lathan and his crew were very responsible for the installation of the gates and a major help. Molly Cassatt from Genesee Soil and Water took this project from an idea through completion, she was an outstanding asset. Shelly Stein who made us aware of these funds and helped throughout the whole project, and lastly Rick Henry from Clark, Patterson, Lee worked his magic with the DEC, and Sharon Jeary who keeps it all together. 2019 will be a challenging year, but our team will continue to do our best, Thank You for your trust and support.
