LeRotary Notes Le Rotary Notes for 12/19/18 - President Jim Ellison opened the December 19th meeting in the usual manner with the Pledge, Prayer and Four Way Test. Our guests today included President Jim's wife Joan and Le Roy Central High School Seniors Libby Loftus and Calvin Herrick. We also hosted several children from our Rotary family. Announcements were as follows: Marcia McKenzie gave a report summarizing this month's Board Meeting: The board is in need of ideas for a District Grant Project. Earlyact just completed a project with the Le Roy Police Department called “Stuff the Cruiser”. In fact, they stuffed over 3000 food items into police cruiser and donated it to the needy! The club is planning a Meat Raffle which is tentatively scheduled for this Spring. Members will be ringing the bell for Salvation Army Bell again on Saturday 12/22. There will be a LeRoy Rotary Community Kitchen (LRCK) Dinner on Wednesday 12/26. We welcome members of the community to join us to give back to their community. Next week's program will be a Civil Rights Training Program for the LRCK. It will certify those in attendance to act as servers for the LRCK Dinners. Member Fines included: Mike Tucci and Tony Gugino for the Bills win. Jason Karcher for his new home. Bob Bennett for an article in the Batavia Daily about two bucks. We then welcomed Santa Claus for a visit. He provided gifts for over 17 children in attendance. Have you considered becoming part of an organization which is wiping polio off the earth, funding over $35,000 in scholarships for local graduates, feeding hungry people at the Community Kitchen twice each month, and saving the lives of babies in Uganda? Please help us make our community a better place to live. LeRoy Rotary Notes for December 26, 2018 - It was typical wintry day as President Jim Ellison brought the meeting to order the day after Christmas. Announcements were plentiful as LeRoy Rotarians continue to do wonderful things in our community and abroad. The Community Kitchen will put on a post-Christmas Dinner tonight. The next Community Kitchen dinner is January 8th. President Jim reminded Rotarians that they had one last week to donate to Every Rotarian Every Year before the end of the year. We have services opportunities coming up in January to help paint parts of the Hope Center and donate clothing for the victims of sexual assault. Rotarians are busy people and there were many who missed last weeks meeting. Jerry McCullough got caught up for eight misses and Sami Vagg had more than enough makeups to cover her two missed lunches. Fining at today’s meeting was lively as always. Jerry McCullough was fined for missing the Christmas Party as well as a photo of a cup of cappuccino near his hot tub. Sami Vagg paid Happy Bucks for the Christmas Trees Around the World project which has brought a lot of attention to Le Roy this year. David Grayson paid up in thanks for his wedding photo. Tom McGiniss celebrated his need to give at all times of the year! Carol Wolfe was fined for a new car. Our program today was Civil Rights training as required by FoodLink to maintain our partnership. We watched an online video and completed the accompanying test to get people certified.
