Upon arrival patrols located a single victim on the shoulder of the roadway, the victim appeared to have suffered serious physical injuries and several citizens had stopped and were rendering first aid to the victim. The victim was transported to the hospital by Mercy Flight due to the severity of their injuries. When patrols first arrived on scene, the vehicle that victim had exited from was no longer on scene or in the area. During the investigation multiple witnesses came forward and were able to provide patrols with a description of the vehicle, though they varied slightly, patrols were able to determine that it was a dark or black colored SUV that the victim had exited from and that at the time of the incident the vehicle was moving. During the course of the investigation patrols were able to identify a vehicle that was associated with the victim that matched the description provided by the witnesses. The vehicle was registered to 57-year-old, Lorie A. Litolff, of Craigie Street, Le Roy. Patrols responded to Litolff’s residence and were able to locate her at that location. Though it is unclear why, it is believed the victim exited the moving vehicle voluntarily, it is unclear the speed at the time the victim exited. When the victim exited the vehicle, they lost their balance and fell striking the pavement which resulted in at least some of the injuries sustained by the victim. After the victim exited the vehicle, Litolff continued north bound on Lake Street, Litolff fled the scene of a personally injury accident and failed to report the accident to the Police. It was also discovered that Litolff was operating the vehicle in an intoxicated state at the time of the incident and had another individual blow into her interlock device so she could operate the motor vehicle. Litolff was taken into custody and charged with one count of Leaving the Scene of a Serious Injury Accident, a Felony, one count of Driving While Intoxicated, a Misdemeanor, one count of Failure to Report an Accident with Injuries, a Misdemeanor, one count of Violation of Ignition Interlock Device, a Misdemeanor, and one count of Failure to Take a Breath Test, a Violation.
