The American Legion has chosen Celeste Vescovi as the 2019 Poppy Girl. Congratulations Celeste! Despite the weather, Little League has played several games. After two weeks home runs were hit by Peter Clark and Jude Sherman, they will be getting the customary milk shake from the Mayor. The weather has pushed many projects back, but the lawns in the village are looking green and vibrant. Over a dozen years ago Mayor Jim DeLooze made a decision to replace the trees on Main Street. Jim picked the Cleveland Pear trees that line Main Street. Last week as I walked in the Little League parade, it was hard not to notice how beautiful the trees and the street were. We are very fortunate to live in such a scenic setting. All Mother’s please except my belated best wishes and thanks for all you do, there is no love like a mother’s love. Part of our Summit Street Courts remodel plan was to make a regulation size basketball court. The current court is about 35 feet in width, a regulation court is 50 feet. With this change I expect to see better outside shooting at the high school level. Unfortunately, this weather has put everybody behind getting work done. We will keep you informed on our progress.
