The suspect had left the area before Police were called and a request was sent to the public to help identify him. Based on the public's response this person was identified as Kenneth S. Stasiw, age 31 who is a resident in the town of Gates N.Y. Mr. Stasiw was later located and interviewed and cooperated fully with the police investigation. The LeRoy Police with the assistance of the Buffalo Office of the FBI met with Mr. Stasiw and were allowed a full search of all his electronic equipment including phones, camera and computer and no concerning photos, websites or other electronic data were found. It was determined that Mr. Stasiw was an amateur photographer who stated he was in LeRoy to take pictures of the creekbank and Statue of Liberty. Mr. Stasiw further stated he was attempting to develop a portfolio of body piercings and while in LeRoy he approached the two girls asking them if they had piercings and if he could take photos of such. One girl declined and one girl allowed such. Mr. Stasiw stated he understood the concerns of all involved especially being at/near the LeRoy School and making an error in judging as to the age of the girls, thinking they were older than they were. After consulting with the FBI, the District Attorneys Office and the parents of the student who allowed the photo to be taken, no charges will be placed at this time. The LeRoy Police Department assured that the LeRoy Central School District was kept informed through this investigation and the School is aware of the outcome. The LeRoy Police Department wishes to remind all citizens to lock their vehicles when not in use, especially during the overnight hours. . This reminder comes as the LeRoy Police Department has seen an increase in Larcenies from unlocked cars in the overnight hours over these past two weekends. Larcenies have occurred on Wolcott Street, North Street and an Attempted Larceny occurred on Gilbert Street.
