After the Pledge and the 4-Way Test, President Mary Young got right down to business. We welcomed former LeRoy Rotarian Bob Jones as our guest. Before the announcements President Mary awarded Bob Sullivan with a perfect attendance award for the 2019 year. He has had perfect attendance for twelve consecutive years! An update and thank you went out from Jason Karcher regarding the club’s efforts at the hot dog stand this year at the Oatka Festival. It was a very successful weekend and a good time was had by all. Christine Gephart announced that the LeRoy Community Kitchen was awarded $500 gift card from Tops as part of their grand re-opening to give back to the community. There was an abundance of missed meetings to make-up for by the members and most used the hot dog stand as their make-up. Jerry McCullough, Bob Sullivan, Tammy Arneth, Christine Gephart and Jim Bonacquisti all had missed meetings. President Mary has already gotten the hang of this fining thing because she fined Christine Gephart for her New England vacation with her family, Lynn Belluscio for her brief trip to Omaha, Jason Karcher and Scott McCumiskey for the building of their new deck on their camper, Randy Vink for a photo of an igloo that his grandchildren built during the winter, Martha Bailey for finally cleaning the Christmas decorations out of her Main street storefront window, Jerry McCullough for actually being early to the Friday night tent set up for the hot dog stand, Mike Tucci for his mad hot dog grilling skills (or possibly lack thereof) and last but not least President Mary fined Tony Gugino for coming out of retirement to clean his adorable granddaughters teeth (we have photo evidence). Now in order to fine the president a past president must ask for the services of another past president in order to get the fining of the current president done. (yeah, I know confusing, right?) Past President Scott McCumiskey called on Past President David Grayson to fine Mary for starting the meeting 3 minutes early. Our program today was what we call a new member birthday talk and new members Jeff Halliday and Jim Bonacquisti gave their birthday speeches. Jeff is the current owner of Save-A-Lot here in LeRoy and has a wife and two children. He currently resides in Pennsylvania but would like to live here in LeRoy and is currently looking for a home here. He talked about his career in the grocery business and his future plans going forward in the business. Jim Bonacquisti grew up in LeRoy. He has been married to his lovely wife for over 20 years and has three adult children. He worked at the Democrat and Chronicle for many years. He retired from the D&C and is actively working with the football program at the high school and even wrote a book about his football experience.
