Cal-Mum won the toss and deferred, giving LeRoy the ball to start the game. LeRoy started on their own 35-yard line. The Knights wasted no time punching it into the end zone. It took the Senior Knights 6 plays with Noah Kaczanowski scoring on a 5 yard run. The PAT was successful. LeRoy 8-Cal-Mum 0. The Red Raiders first drive started with a 1st down, but ended quickly with a fumble recovered by Leroy’s Connor Elmore. A penalty, a botched handoff and a determined defense forced the Knights to punt on fourth down. Cal-Mum’s next series of downs ended quickly with tackles from Brady McClurg, Colin Greene, and Colin Kazmierczak to bring up fourth down. The Red Raiders went to the air only to have Grady Gilligan jump in front of the receiver to intercept the pass. Gilligan took it 60 yards for a pick six TD. Kaczanowski PAT was good. LeRoy 16 - Cal- Mum 0 Cal-Mum had the ball to start the second quarter. On first down Brady McClurg stuffed the running back in the hole for a gain of zero. The next play was fumbled but the Red Raiders QB recovered. On third down Connor “CC” Corcimiglia pancaked the running back for no gain. Cal-Mum was forced to punt. LeRoy started the next drive on their own 21-yard line. Great blocking by Mike Fortuna, Josh Colopy, and Jeremiah Sheehan allowed Connor Elmore to find the hole and take it 66 yards into the end zone. Kaczanowski PAT was good. LeRoy 24 - Cal-Mum 0. Cal-Mum started the second half with the ball, but they couldn’t get much momentum going thanks to Joey Reschke who busted into the backfield and recovered his first of two fumbles of the night. LeRoy started their first series of the second half on the Red Raiders 31 yard line. After a couple of grueling runs by Cam Wilson, Colin Greene took the ball 12 yards in for the score. PAT was not attempted. LeRoy 30 – Cal-Mum 0 The Red Raider’s would fumble the ball on each of their next three possessions. Grady Gilligan, Joey Reschke, and Cole Tonzi would each record a fumble.
