LE ROY PENNYSAVER & NEWS - OCTOBER 6, 2019 LeRoy Youth Junior Football Submitted by: Robert Stiles The LeRoy Junior Knights took step 5 in their quest to bring the trophy back to Joe’s Barbershop against the Warsaw Tigers. The Junior Knights @ 4-0 on the season where excited to be home and under the lights for the first time this season. Afull pro-longed downpour accompanied the start, middle and most of the end of the contest. The wetness didn’t dilute the spirit of the game. Both teams showing great sportsmanship and class throughout. The Junior Knights started out on defense with Jude Christ, Andreas Condidorio and Carter Page decking the Warsaw Back for -5 yards. Roland Goodenough and Carson “Nutter” Stiles are both in 3rd grade and they get beat up in practice a lot. The beatings have made them wise as Goodenough tackles for -2 and Nutty for -4 and a fumble Recovery. Knights Ball! “Touchdown” Tommy Clifford has been on fire all season is humble and would never claim to be the GOAT. On run #2 TD Tommy looks like the greatest of all time behind Carter Page’s make up block. 22 yard TOUCHDOWN! LeRoy 6-0. Warsaw with the ball at their own 35 is In for a long day with Roland Goodenough. Roland forces a fumble that Ryder Stiles dives on. Stiles then roars with his inside his head voice “anything you can do I can do better.....little brother, Swagger jacker!”. LeRoy with great field position is having a hard time looking crisp. In the sloppy wet mess , Stiles spearheads the offense, methodically moving the ball with Christ, Silvernail and Clifford. Jackson Nichols rotates in and sets up outside at flanker and draws a double team. Ryder Stiles @ QB communicates with Nichols and audibles to Christ. TOUCHDOWN! Christ jams to his favorite band Aerosmith afterwards. LR 12-0. Wedding crasher David Wojtaszczyk is out this game doing his Vince Vaughn (Jeremy Gray) impersonation. Wojo as Grey, urges Roland Goodenough to take his spot on the defensive line. “Get on in here, let the big bear get his paws on ya.” Roland seizes the opportunity and makes 3 tackles in the backfield on Warsaw’s next possession. Look for “Backfield Crashers” starring Goodenough, Nate Pangrazio and Jaxson “Cookie Monster” Cook to be released summer of 2022 The Junior Warsaw Tigers have a no punt policy turn the ball over at their own 34 yard line. Drew “Cosmic Brownie” Beachel, Ryan Crissy, Nicholas Porcelli, Jessie “Nasty”Hubbard and “Mean” Ryan O’Geen take over and are firing out. Jude Christ slams 2 physical runs behind the Warner brothers. Then Austyn Silvernail gets a gift from Luke Offen. Offen destroys the entire side taking out multiple Tigers allowing Silvernail to go untouched for 25 yards. TOUCHDOWN! LR 18-0. The Junior Knights rolling early in the rain pile on with Brennan Weber, Road-Dog Bautista and Goodenough. Weber is a absolute monster gets tested on this series and decks the Tigers for -7 yards with plenty of gang tackling on the first 2 plays. Warsaw is insistent they attack Webber again and he forces a fumble that Jacob Kochmanski recovers. “Cosmic Brownie” Beachel takes over in amazing field position. The first year QB has a newfound surplus of moxie. On play 1 he feeds his workhorse back Jude Christ. On play 2 “Cosmic Brownie” goes straight “Cozzy B” and bursts for a 20 yard TOUCHDOWN! Next Gen stats tracked his top speed at 16.4 MPH. LR 24-0 With 8 minutes to play in the 1st half, up 24-0 and wet, the game starts to look ugly with Warsaw getting overmatched by the Junior Knights Defense. Roland Goodenough forces and recovers another fumble. The game is out of hand and LeRoy is kneeling the ball. LR 24-0 The 3rd quarter started with the Junior Knights giving their possession to the Warsaw Tigers. Jude Christ, “Cookie Monster”, Nutter and “Rootbeer” all making plays Jacob Keller & Nick “Cowboy” Lentine are rotating in on the prestigious RED 1 line are holding their own with run blocking. They can pass block too, allowing Stiles to zip a ringer into Matthew McCulley for a 5 yard TOUCHDOWN! Anthony “Rootbeer” Warner adds the 2 point kick as his brother, Micheal holds it. LR 32-0 Warsaw would add a long Touchdown run late to make the final 32-6 in a very wet and weird contest. Step 6 takes place this Sunday at Hartwood Park at noon.
