It ended up being a cold and rainy night, however it wouldn’t stop the Senior Knights from their first win at home. LeRoy won the toss and chose to defer until the second half. LeRoy would kick off to Warsaw giving them the ball at their own 35-yard line. Colin Kazmierczak, Joey Reschke and Noah Kaczanowski would shut down Warsaw’s offense on all four downs, giving LeRoy their first possession of the night. LeRoy had good field position starting at Warsaw’s 43-yard line. LeRoy’s offense started to move the ball only to be moved back on a holding penalty. The penalty didn’t slow down the Knights, Connor Elmore was able to punch it in the end zone on a 42-yard run. PAT no good. LeRoy 6 Warsaw 0. Warsaw’s second possession started on their own 22-yard line. Between two fumbles and a couple of penalties the Tigers found themselves deep in their own territory. On fourth down and long, Warsaw decided not to punt and it proved to be the wrong call. Jack Clifford made a great open field tackle to stop the Tigers from a first down. Both teams had a couple four and out series until LeRoy’s Noah Kaczanowski found a hole and cut outside down the sideline for a 42- yard touchdown. Kaczanowski kicked the PAT. LeRoy 14 Warsaw 0 LeRoy started the second half with the ball and marched right down the field. The Knights were able to get in the end zone however a holding penalty brought it back. LeRoy couldn’t get in again and turned the ball over to Warsaw. Warsaw had a hard time moving the ball in the second half. On first down Cam Riggi and Colin Kazmierczak stuffed Warsaw’s running back for no gain. On second down Cam Wilson blasted through the gap and stopped Warsaw again for no gain. On third down Jeremiah Sheehan and Drake Schwab took care of business and stopped Warsaw for no yards. It was fourth down and Schwab once again got in the backfield and crushed Warsaw for a loss. Warsaw would turn the ball over to the Knights. LeRoy would have another opportunity to put some more points on the board and they did. After a few nice offensive runs by Elmore and Reschke, Colin Greene would take the ball 20 yards into the end zone for LeRoy’s final touchdown of the day. PAT was unsuccessful. Final score LeRoy 20 Warsaw 0. LeRoy’s offense was well balanced with 7 different Knights carrying the football.
