Additionally, the proposition on LeRoy Am- bulance funding was passed by an even larger margin (nearly five to one) than the original “straw vote” a year ago. There- fore, the Town Board unani- mously adopted our 2020 bud- get, one that included a $70,000 subsidy for LeRoy Ambulance. Supervisor-elect Farnholz will be establishing a more formal link between the Town Board and LeRoy Ambulance Board going forward. However, it is my hope that this issue is put to rest for a spell given the over- whelming support at the polls. CEO Jeff Steinbrenner has been working diligently in identifying vacant buildings and their owners in the town and village. As you know, the town and village both have codes that deal with such properties. The Mayor and I have recently “signed-off” on properties that will be receiving an addition- al assessment (fee), per code, on their 2020 January tax bills. This code, in both the village and town, has all ready cleaned up a number of properties, ei- ther through demolition or ren- ovation. What started at about three dozen properties has now dwindled to about a dozen. A huge improvement for property values in our community. The Town also took receipt of a very attractive and unique photo of the Marion Steam Shovel on Gulf Road taken by Jim DeLooze. Jim and a friend went out at night, applied some unique lighting, and, through multiple exposures, took a great picture. We are in the process of getting the picture framed and it will be hung in the main hall- way along with our other histor- ic pictures. Thank you Jim! Finally, as we approach Thanksgiving, I can share an- other item of which to be thank- ful for. Attending the most re- cent Veterans’ Day ceremony, where the 100th anniversary of our Legion post was celebrated along with a dedication of the Vietnam Memorial, was very moving. Thank you to our Town Historian, Commanders/Chap- lain/Auxiliary of the Legion, and LeRoy students singing the Anthem and playing Taps. Most of all, thank you to our many veterans and their families. It was a great event and very well attended. One last thank you as well. Thanks to all of you who have gone out of your way over the past several weeks to express your appreciation for my last eight years as your Town Su- pervisor. It has been my plea- sure to work on your behalf and serve your interests as I see you Around Town.
