LE ROY PENNYSAVER & NEWS - FEBRUARY 16, 2020 LeRotary Notes The Rotary Club of LeRoy met at St. Ann’s at the Greens for their weekly luncheon meeting on February 5th. Rotarians recited the pledge, Bob Carlsen gave his as always inspirational invocation, and the entire club recited the four way test. Two LeRoy Central School Seniors, Cam Smith and Sam Austin, were present as guests today. The Club has a busy winter and spring. Mike Tucci gave us an update on the results of the Big Game Raffle. It was a great event and even more successful than anticipated! President Mary Young Murray announced the dates for several spring events. The Rotary Club of LeRoy has taken on sponsorship of the annual Easter Egg Hunt which will take place on April 11th. There will be a Meat Raffle at the Legion on April 25th. Keep your eyes open for the tickets the first week in March. The annual Graze to Raise, Rotary’s outstanding annual fund raiser for the Milne Scholarship, is May 15th. The LeRoy Rotary Community Kitchen continues to serve the community every 2nd and 4th Tuesday. Marcia McKenzie gave an update on our District Grant submission. Stay tuned for more information regarding LeRoy Rotary’s goal to give back to our community through District Grant purchases. President Mary reviewed missed meetings and weekly fines. A fine was levied against Jeff Halladay for his nightly Jeopardy games with his wife and son. Tim Moag was levied a fine for time spent with his grandchildren during the holidays. Phil Plossl was fined for his Nephew’s “Batavia Player’s Harvie Award”, TomMcGinnis was fined for (please no children read this) practicing his Easter Bunny wave and Jim Ellison was fined for giving his prize back to Rotary after winning the Tail Gate Package at the Big Game Raffle The guest speaker was Rotarian, Christine Gephart. Christine gave us an update on the LeRoy Rotary Community Kitchen. The Kitchen continues to provide meals and food to community members every 2nd and 4th Wednesday. Volunteer support from the community has been amazing, particularly from our youth. Christine encouraged anyone who would like to participate to please stop by at the Masons Lodge at 12 Bank Street.
