Mayor's Corner by Greg “Porp” Rogers On March 18th there will be a Village election for Mayor and 2 Trustee positions. This is a Wednesday and not the typical Tuesday election date. This is also the night of the scheduled Village Board meeting. In light of this, the Village Board meeting will be held on the second floor at 7:00 pm. The election will be on the first floor from noon till 9:00 pm. Soon the Board will be working on its upcoming budget. As always it is our goal to, not increase a rate or if needed to limit any increase. While health care and wages have gone up the Board has taken other actions in hopes to offset any raise in the rate, however we don’t know for sure until we dig deeper. I will keep you posted on our progress. From a DPW perspective, it’s business as usual for the winter, plow snow, remove snow, plow snow, remove snow. We hopefully will be out of this routine soon so we can get to last fall’s leaves. There has been a lot of action out of Albany that will affecting public safety in some form or another. NYCOM (New York Conference of Mayors) is working to offer solutions on some of these issues, to lessen the degree of these actions. Many times, it is the down state issues that cause us the hardship. “Procrastination is the art of keeping up with yesterday” Don Marquis T-shirts • Hats • Visors • Tank Tops • Jackets • Towels GREAT GIFTS FOR YOUR FAMILY • FRIENDS • ETC. 1 Church St., Le Roy, NY • 585-768-2201 • Fax 585-768-6334 • Hours: Mon.-Fri. 8:00-5:00 E M B R O I D E R Y lpgraphics.net
