Orioles 14, Yankees 7 On Saturday the Yankees took on the O’s. Grady Gilligan would start on the mound for the O’s. Colin Greene started off the game with a double for theYanks and would end up scoring off an RBI from Anthony Warner. The O’s would come up to bat. A walk from Brady McClurg and an RBI double from Cam Wilson would even the score at 1. Wilson would then score on a pass ball to make the score 2 to 1. Deacon Queal hit a single to score Simon Greene. O’s would end the inning scoring 3 runs. On to the second inning. Grady started off the inning striking out the first 2 batters and the Yanks would not score. O’s time to hit. Centerfielder Tom Roloson would put a perfect bunt into play, but Colin Greene made a great play to get him out at first. Cam Maxwell beat out a throw to first to get a single. But the inning would end with the O’s not scoring. 3rd inning started off great for the Yanks with singles by Donovan Gaillard and Colin Greene, but the O’s defense was solid and would not let them score. Cam Wilson started off the inning with a single for the O’s. Cam scored on a pass ball at home. Grady Gilligan drew a walk. Simon Greene would then smash a hard liner for a single. O’s now have runners on first and second. Grady would then later score on a pass ball making the score 5 to 1 O’s. Mia Strollo and Logan Kanaley both drew walks to have runners on 1st and 2nd. The Yankees played tough defense to keep the O’s from scoring any more. Aiden Weaver hit a single to start off the 4th inning for the Yanks. Cam Riggi then smashed an RBI double to score Weaver. Riggi would end up scoring on an RBI from Drew Beachel. Donovan Gaillard would add another run with a hard hit single up the middle. Yanks are making a comeback down 5 to 4. O’s Brady McClurg started off with a single in the bottom of the fourth. Grady Gilligan hit a hard shot to the wall and scored McClurg. Deacon Queal hit a grounder to the right side to score Gilligan. Score is now 8 to 4. Now to the top of the fifth. Aiden Weaver crushed a double and ended up scoring off another RBI from Drew Beachel. Yanks would score 1 to make it 8 to 5. Walks by Tom Roloson and Logan Kanaley started the O’s offensive surge. Brady McClurg hit a double scoring Roloson. CamWilson would have another hit and RBI to make the score 11 to 5. Simon Greene connected on an RBI single to centerfield. His second of the game. Deacon Queal added another single to his impressive day. O’s would leave the bottom of the 5th leading 14 to 5. Grady Gilligan threw a gem to end up with the win. Brady McClurg came in to relieve Gilligan and close the game. Yanks would score 2 runs and make the final 14 to 7. Both teams battled hard and played great. Indians 10, Twins 3 The Indians and Twins met for the third time this season after splitting their first two games. Hayven Cordes drew the starting nod for the Indians with Avante Walker on the hill for the Twins. The Indians bats came out hot in this one as Tommy Clifford led off the game in the top of the 1st with a single and Jagger Smith also singled. Clifford then scored on a heads up play by tagging up after a foul ball off the bat of Jace Jedrewski was caught giving the Indians the first run of the game. Smith would then score after a single by Hayven Cordes and Cordes himself would score on a passed ball giving the Indians a 3-0 lead. In the bottom of the 1st, the Twins would answer right back after Noah Kaczanowski doubled and scored on a triple by Avante Walker. Walker would then score on a double by Matt McCulley closing the gap to 3-2 after one. The score would remain unchanged until the top of the 3rd when Tommy Clifford singled, Jagger Smith walked and Jace Jedrewski singled loading the bases for the Indians. Hayven Cordes would then walk pushing Clifford in and Jagger Smith would steal home to give the Indians a 5-2 lead after three. The Indians would tack on another run in the top of the 4th after Clifford singled and Smith drove him in with a single. The pitching of Cordes would keep the Twins bats in check as he struck out 9 Twins bats through 4 innings, keeping the score 6-2 through 4. In the 5th, the Indians would tack on 2 more runs after Peyton Privitera doubled, Eddie Lathan singled and Tommy Clifford hit them both home with a 2 run double. The Twins would add a run of their own in the bottom half of the 5th after Brayden Chase doubled and eventually scored on a passed ball making the score 8-3 after 5. In the 6th, the Indians added a couple more runs after Hayven Cordes singled and scored on a passed ball and Jack Clifford, who had reached on an error, scored after Peyton Privitera’s second double of the game increasing the lead to 10-3 which would end the scoring in the game. For the Indians (5-3), Hayven Cordes was fantastic on the mound and got the win, striking out 9 through 4 innings of work. Jagger Smith finished out the final 2 innings, striking out 6. Offensively, Tommy Clifford led the Indians going 4-4 with 3 runs scored and 2 RBI’s. Jagger Smith, Jace Jedrewski, Hayven Cordes and Peyton Privitera also all had 2 hits while Edwin Lathan also added a hit. For the Twins (2-5), Avante Walker (7 K’s), Brayden Chase (6 K’s) and Reece Pryzbyl (1K) handled the pitching duties. At the plate, Noah Kaczanowski led the way with 3 hits, Brayden Chase 2 hits and Avante Walker had a triple with an RBI. Matthew McCulley also added a double and an RBI Tigers 9, Red Sox 2 The final game of the third Saturday of the season was played by the Tigers and Red Sox. The Red Sox jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the second inning. Colton Halladay and Ethan Rose drew 1 out walks. Then with 2 outs Isaac Stella scored a ground ball up the middle for 2 RBI. Red Sox 2, Tigers 0 The Tigers would respond immediately in the top of the 3rd inning. With one out, Alex Spezzano tripled. Jack Currin followed with a RBI triple and scored on an errant throw from the outfielder. Peter Clark followed with a triple of his own. Clark would score on a hustle play by Liam Grayson when the 3rd strike of his at bat got away from the catcher and Liam sprinted to first allowing Clark to score on the throw. The Tigers opened the game up in 4th inning scoring 5 more runs. Thomas Crissy, Peyton Privitera, Alex Spezzano, Jack Currin and Peter Clark all scored with Jack Currin and Liam Grayson both recording 2 RBI on singles, making the score Tigers 8, Red Sox 2. The final run of the game came when Peter Clark scored after a double in the 6th. He moved to third and scored on passed balls. Tigers 9, Red Sox 2. Liam Grayson started on the mound for the Tigers. After a scoreless 1st inning Grayson was forced to exit due to an injury. Peter Clark relieved Grayson and threw 5 innings allowing only 1 hit while striking out 7 Red Sox batters. Clark retired the last 9 batters he faced to earn the win. The pitching duties for the Indians were handled by Evan Rose and Isaac Stella. Rose pitched 4 ½ innings and Stella 1 2/3. Rose struck out 7 Tigers batters. Peter Clark led the Tigers offensively with 3 hits including 2 doubles and 2 runs scored. Alex Spezzano recorded a singled, double and triple while scoring 3 runs. Jack Currin added 3 hits, 3 RBI and scored twice. Thomas Crissy, Liam Grayson and Peyton Privitera all singled. Privitera and Crissy both scored. Isaac Stella went 2-3 for the Red Sox with a RBI. Joey Vernaccini doubled. Colton Halladay and Ethan Rose walked and both scored.
