Peter Clark led the Tigers offensively with 5 hits while scoring 3 runs and 2 RBI. Alex Spezzano and Liam Grayson were both 3-4. Grayson scored three times and Spezzano twice. Jack Currin was 2-3 with 3 runs and 2 RBI. Jude Christ doubled, walked and had 2 RBI. Carter Page and Andreas Condidorio both recorded a hit and walked twice. TJ Crissy and Nick Porcelli both reached on walks. Cam Riggi, Colin Greene and Aidan Weaver shared the pitching duties for the Yankees. Colin Greene was 2-3 with a run scored. Connor Elmore added a singled and run scored. Aidan Weaver was 2-3 with a run scored. Drew Beachel singled and recorded a RBI. Indians 6, Red Sox 4 The second seeded Indians and third seeded Red Soxmet for the third time this season with a trip to the Scanlan Cup finals on the line. Jace Jedrewski got the starting nod for the Indians with Evan Rose getting the call for the Sox. The visiting Sox scored first in this one after Isaac Stella led off the game with a double and Joey Vernaccini knocked him in with a RBI single. Joey Reschke would also single to give the Sox 2 runners on base but Jace Jedrewski would work out of trouble keeping the score 1-0 after one. In the home half of the 2nd inning, the Indians would even things up after Jeremiah Sheehan led off the inning with a double and scored on an RBI ground out by Eddie Lathan. However, in the top of the 3rd inning the Red Sox would jump in front. Isaac Stella would lead off with his second double of the game, Evan Rose would walk and Joey Vernaccini would hit a ground-rule double scoring Stella. Rose would also score on a passed ball giving the Red Sox a 3-1 lead. In the bottom of the 3rd, the Indians would answer back. Tommy Clifford led off the inning with a double and Jagger Smith singled to give the Indians 2 runners on base with no outs. Jace Jedrewski then blasted a double scoring Clifford and Smith and Jedrewski would score after a double by Hayven Cordes to give the Indians a 4-3 lead after three. The score would stay unchanged in the 4th thanks to good pitching and solid defense from both teams. However, in the top of the 5th the game would be tied up when Joey Vernaccini blasted a home run over the left field fence. However, the Indians would play some good defense and get some solid pitching from Jagger Smith to avoid further damage in the inning. In the home half of the 5th, the Indians would jump in front. Jagger Smith led off the inning and struck out, but advanced all the way to 3rd base after a dropped third strike and a throwing error. Smith would then score on a RBI single by Jace Jedrewski and Jedrewski himself would score on a passed ball to give the Indians a 6-4 lead. In the top of the 6th, Hayven Cordes would come on pitching for the Indians and strike out the side to end the game and give the Indians a berth in the Scanlan Cup Finals. For the Indians (9-3), Jagger Smith got the win on the mound pitching 1 1/3 innings with 2 K’s. Hayven Cordes earned the save with 1 inning and 3 K’s. Jace Jedrewski was solid as a starter with 4 K’s over 3 2/3 innings. Offensively, Jedrewski led the Indians with 2 hits including a double, 3 RBI’s and 2 runs scored. Jagger Smith added a hit and 2 runs scored while Tommy Clifford, Hayven Cordes, Jeremiah Sheehan also added hits. Peyton Privitera also reached base twice (BB, HBP). For the Red Sox (6-6), Evan Rose pitched a great game, going the distance and striking out 5. At the plate, Joey Vernaccini led the way with 3 hits and 3 RBI’s, including a double and home run. Isaac Stella added 2 doubles and 2 runs scored. Joey Reschke also added 2 hits. (Semifinals cont.)
