Box 56, LeRoy, NY 14482. by James Farnholz Supervisor, Town of LeRoy (585) 768-6910 ext. 231 Happy Labor Day. The first Monday in September set aside to celebrate the hard work and accomplishments of the American worker. This year more than any other that could not be more deserved. As we have navigated our way through the pandemic shut down and the reopening process. The American worker has had to do more and adapted more than any other time in our history. Labor Day also marks the unofficial end of summer. Personally, it signaled the start of another school year either as a student or a teacher for over 50 years. This school year starts like no other. I want to wish the best of luck to our students , teachers , parents and administrators as they all are navigating uncharted waters. One thing that will be sadly missed this year is Myrtle Burrell on the corner of Main St. and Wolcott St. making sure that all of the children (and parents) were safe crossing the street. In honor of all that Myrtle contributed to our community the Village and Town have declared September 10th Myrtle Burrell Day. At 10:00 am on September 10th through donations from the Town, Village, PTSO and others a bench will be placed at the corner honoring Myrtle’s service to our community. September also brings our budget process into a sharper focus. I have finished the tentative budget for 2021 and will present it to the Town board on September 10th. The Board will have a working session on the 24th and I will be scheduling public hearings in October to get community input. There are still many questions as to funding sources for 2021 that still must be worked out prior to establishing the tax rate. Around Town
