LE ROY PENNYSAVER & NEWS - OCTOBER 25, 2020 I, Samantha Vagg, make it a point not to get involved in politics, especially local politics. However, there is a candidate for LeRoy Town Council that has inspired me to get involved. I have worked in the skilled nursing industry, at LeRoy Village Green Nursing & Rehabilitation for 22 years. On March 12th, 2020 the world that our residents & employees knew was turned completely upside down. Due to the rapidly spreading COVID-19 virus in America, the government locked down all nursing homes to residents & employees only. We didn’t know much about the virus at the time, but we knew if it got in our building it was going to be devastating. We were all terrified. Our residents & employees watched as this virus destroyed nursing homes around our country. While the country seemed to be in chaos, personal protective equipment (PPE) also almost instantly became impossible to find. The first member of our community to reach out to me was Bill Fox. This ad is being sponsored by Samantha Vagg, and friends to elect Bill Fox. Bill stopped at LeRoy Village Green with several cases of highly sought-after hospital grade N95 masks from his construction company. At this time, N95 masks might as well have been made of gold. They were completely out of stock everywhere, and there was a massive need for them. I was completely blown away by this man’s unbelievable generosity, and said “Bill, you have to let me pay you for these”, his reply was “No, I just want you to be safe, I want the people here to be safe”. Bill Fox is approachable, transparent, intelligent, and compassionate. Regardless if you agree with him on his beliefs, he respects other’s point of view. He is all in on this community, and is exactly the person I want representing me. I could give a hundred more examples of the amazing things he has done for our community, but he prefers to be anonymous in his giving. Bill Fox gave me those valuable, impossible to find N95 masks for our staff & residents, got back in his truck, and never brought it up again. Please write in Bill Fox for Le Roy Town Councilman.
