Fitting for 2020 it will be a full moon. For those of you who follow the Farmers Almanac it will be a blue moon(second full moon in a month). I hope everyone can get out and be safe both with the normal halloween precautions as well as Covid precautions. The town board has completed the budget for 2021. With a great deal of hard work from everyone there will be no reduction in services. The tax rate for 2021 will go up by .01/ per $1000. We are very aware of the financial burden that the pandemic has put on people and worked very hard to keep the tax rate down. Thanks to an increased revenue sharing resolution from the county that enabled us to only go up by a penny. We are presently finishing the commercial solar code for LeRoy. There will be a public hearing on the proposed code either in December or January, prior to the board voting on adoption. Finally I would like to address the passion that surrounds election day this year. Voting is both our right and our duty. Our choices are our own and reflect our individual beliefs. Regardless of who you vote for , or who wins, we must then work together for the good of everyone. Please vote be passionate but also be understanding that others have a viewpoint that may be quite different than yours. When the dust settles and the votes are counted we are all still Americans.
