We appreciate the Rotary Club seeing a need for our community and addressing it. This will enhance the T-shirt League and Girls’ Softball viewing experience for many parents and grandparents. Take if from a guy who knows this is a big deal! The Village is also going to do some upgrades to those fields to make them even better. Every year in my Thanksgiving column, I thank all the great people who make this community run. To say that was more important in 2020 is a gross understatement. The cooperation between, county, village, town, school, fire department and ambulance has never been better. We all met in mid-March to try to figure out how we were all going to operate. I know we are not out of this yet, but I would have to give everyone a grade of A+. This also includes the whole community who has come together to fight this virus and make sure everybody comes out OK in the end. This is just another example of the quality of life offered in LeRoy. My board and staff have all risen to the occasion, through these troubling times. The Public Works and Police Unions both took concessions, to help the village make it through these uncertain times, that was very unselfish and greatly appreciated. The village is so fortunate to have the likes of Sharon Jeary, Chris Hayward, Bob Lathan Jr. and Steve Carroll running their respective departments. We have the best of the best and are truly blessed for all of our employees, Thank You to all, and you have my deepest gratitude. It has been a wild ride so far in 2020, and doesn’t look to be over, but we will all get through this, together. Continue to be safe, wear your mask, social distance, and try to put a smile on your face because we will get through this.
