Thank you for understanding the need to change this service. On Friday December 11, 2020 at about 7:00 pm, a two car head-on accident was reported on West Main Street in the Village of LeRoy. One person driving a Chevy suburban was injured in the accident. The driver of a pick-up truck, 41 year old JamesA. Centner of 7967 Vallance Rd LeRoy, was arrested and charged with the Misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated and numerous violations consisting of Failing to use Designated Lane, Drinking in a Motor Vehicle on a Highway and Refusal to Take a Breath Test. It is alleged that Centner, while driving intoxicated was coming from the area of Tops Market when he turned onto Route 5 (West Main Street) and drove in the wrong lane causing the head on crash. Centner was charged and arraigned virtually before being released to a 3rd party. The driver of the other vehicle was injured and was transported to the hospital by LeRoy Ambulance with non-life threatening injuries. During this investigation, it was also alleged that Centner's vehicle was involved in a minor motor vehicle accident with no injuries in the parking lot of Tops Market, prior to the head on crash and this also is being investigated.
