LE ROY PENNYSAVER & NEWS - MAY 30, 2021 Submitted by Jon Privitera Red Sox 20 Tigers 4 Isaac Stella got the start on the bump for the Red Sox. In the first the tigers would pick up a run after the speedy Tommy Clifford reached base on a dropped third strike. Benito Bautista would pick himself up an RBI knocking in Clifford. In the bottom of the first the sox scored 9 runs from some walks and some nice hitting. The Tigers failed to score in the second while the Red Sox added 1 more in their half. In the third the tigers scored 2 with solid hits from Clifford, Jeremiah Sheehan, and Bautista. The Sox would add 10 more runs in the last 3 innings for a final of 20-4. Hitting for the Red Sox were Isaac Stella going 5/5 with 4 RBIS, Evan Rose and Carter Page each with 3 hits, Paul Winters, Ethan Rose, Logan Kanaley each with 2 hits, and Daniel Winters and Dom Dieter each with a hit. Hitting for the Tigers were Benito Bautista going 3/3 with an RBI, Sheehan with 2 hits, and Clifford, Kylie Wilson, Dominic Miller, Deacon Queal, and Jace Beachomp each with a hit. Pitching for the Red sox was Stella, and Pauly Winters. Pitching for the Tigers were Dominic Miller, Deacon Queal, Kylie Wilson, and Ryker Vangalio. Twins 16 Tigers 7 In the 3rd meeting between these 2 teams the Twins came out on top against a very tough tigers team. Led by the pitching of Peyton Privitera and Colton Halladay the twins defense would make great defensive plays in this epic battle. The Tigers would start fireballer Jeremiah Sheehan at pitcher who would throw for 6 strikeouts in a great outing, being relieved by Reece Pryzbyl and Ryker Vangalio. Speedster Tommy Clifford would lead the tigers offense going 3 for 4 at the plate with 2 stolen bases and 3 runs. Also on offense Drew Beachel, Jeremiah Sheehan, Deacon Queal and Dominic Miller would score off of hits by Ryker Vangalio, Ethan Rose and Benito Bautista. Offensively for the Twins, they would find their timing for lightning fast pitches of Sheehan. Colton Halladay would lead the Twins batting with 4 hits and 2 runs. Peyton Privitera, Jude Christ, Kade Olivani, Donovan Gaillard, Eddie Lathan and Carter Page would have 2 hits and 2 runs each. Red Sox 9 Yankees2 The Visiting Sox started off hot, scoring 3 runs in the 1st with key hits from Evan Rose, Isaac Stella, Daniel Winters, and Ethan Rose. TheYankees failed to score in their half of the 1st. Neither team could get anything going in the second. In the third the Sox added 1 run off a passed ball. The yanks picked up their first run in the 3rd after a Colin Greene single and a couple passed balls. In the 4th the Sox would increase their lead scoring 4 runs with key hits coming from Evan Rose, Pauly Winters, and Carter Page. The Red Sox would shut the yanks down in the 4th and the 5th inning, then add 1 run for themselves in the top of the 6th. The yanks picked up 1 run in the bottom of the 6th for a final of 9-2. Hitting for the Red Sox were Evan Rose and Daniel Winters each with 2 hits, Stella, Paul Winters, Page, and Ethan Rose each added a hit. Hitting for the Yankees were Colin Greene, and Anthony Warner each with 2 hits, and Mikey Warner added 1. Pitching for the Sox was Stella, Evan Rose, and Pauly Winters. Pitching for the Yankees was Anthony Warner, and Mathew Mcculley. Orioles 3 Red Sox 5 The Red Sox and Orioles met for their final time in the regular season in the Saturday morning game. Evan Rose started on the mound for the Sox and Simon Greene got the nod for the O's in what would be a pitchers dominated game. The O's started out strong picking up 2 runs in the top of the first with big hits from Austyn Silvernail, and Simon Greene. The Red Sox were able to get 1 run across in their half from a Carter Page RBI double. The next 2 innings would go scoreless for both sides due to some great pitching, and defense. In the 4th the O's picked up one more run after Sammy Bogue reached base on a nice hit, then proceeded to score on some passed balls. The Red Sox would add 4 runs in the bottom of the bottom of the fifth to take the lead. Evan Rose then struck out the side to end a hard fought game from both sides. Hitting for the Red Sox were Isaac Stella, and Carter Page each with 2 hits, Evan Rose added 1 hit. Hitting for the O's were Austyn Silvernail with 2 hits, and Simon Greene and Sammy Bogue each with a hit. Pitching for the Red Sox was Evan Rose allowing 4 hits and striking out 15. Pitching for the O's was Simon Greene allowing 3 hits and striking out 9. Red Sox 10 Twins 1 The Twins and Sox met for their final time of the regular season in the Monday night game. The visiting Sox scored first with 3 runs in the 1st from hits by Evan Rose, Pauly Winters, Carter Page, and Daniel Winters. Due to some solid pitching from Isaac Stella, and some great defense from his fellow Red Sox, the Twins failed to get a run across until the bottom of the 6th when Jude Christ stole home on a heads up play. The sox Added 1 run in the second off a Monster HR by Evan Rose, his second of the year, 5 in the 3rd, and 1 in the fifth for a final of 10-1.Hitting for the Red Sox were Evan Rose with 2 singles, a double, and a HR, Isaac Stella with a single, double, and triple, Andreas Condidorio going 3/4, Ethan Rose and Carter Page ach with 2 hits, and Daniel and Pauly Winters each with a hit. Hitting for the Twins were Peyton Privatera, Jude Christ, Donavan Gaillard, Colton Halliday, and Ryan Ogeen each with a hit a piece. Pitching for the Sox was Isaac Stella allowing 5 hits and striking out 13. Pitching for the Twins were Jude Christ with 8 strikeouts.
