The church is handicap accessible with plenty of parking. by Greg “Porp” Rogers On Wednesday evening the Village Board will be holding its monthly board meeting at the Memorial Auditorium in an effort to have room for all those who want to come for the public hearing on the proposed project on East Ave. This project involves a 30-unit apartment complex for people over the age of 50. This is not low income or a federal subsidized project, like LeRoy Meadows. That part of the project would be totally funded by the developer, and would be on the East side of East Ave. on a 22-acre parcel. The second part of the project would be between 16- 20 single family homes going south on what would be a continuation of East Ave, rough 1100 feet. The Village would be using Village funds to help with the construction of this road, in an effort to increase its tax base and encourage further growth. The reasoning behind this project is to simply expand the number of people paying taxes, to try to offset the amount of tax dollars that need to be raised to keep up with current economic developments. Please take time to come and express your feeling either pro or con or have a question or 2 answered. If you can not make it, please send your questions or concerns to Sharon Jeary. At SJeary@ villageofleroy.org The Meeting again will be at the Memorial Auditorium on Trigon Park at 7:00 pm on Wednesday August 18th, I’m sorry for any confusion and the construction on Wolcott St. that could hamper parking, but the change was made to guarantee air conditioning. “I would much rather ask why we can’t, than we can’t” Mayor's Corner O B I T U A R I E S Mary T.
