LE ROY PENNYSAVER & NEWS - SEPTEMBER 26, 2021 by Greg “Porp” Rogers I have been approached about having “ Winterfest” again this year, at this point my response would be a resounding “Let’s do it” We missed the holidays as we knew them last year, and we should do our best to enjoy them twice as much this year, and never take them for granted again. On October 4th at 7:00 pm at the Memorial auditorium we will reopen the public hearing for the project on East Ave. Since the last meeting the developer has applied with GCED for a pilot for the PUD portion of the project. This changes many aspects of the project and the public hearing will bring much of this out at that time. The board has been looking evaluating infrastructure investment vs anticipated revenue. I am going to attempt to have many facts posted on the towns web site which is www.leroyny.org Last week we had another of our Genesee Association of Municipalities meeting, this monthly meeting is a group looking for the betterment of our community and the Towns and Village’s that make it up. After it was over, I thought how does government start at that level and get so much worse as we go up the ladder. The relationship between the Town, School, Village, Fire Department in our community, has never been better. We are very fortunate to have Shelly Stein’s leadership at the county level, after that it goes real bad real fast. We were told that with the restriction placed on health care workers (who were HERO’s 18 months ago) would result in a shortage of personnel and have an immediate effect on OUR health care. Seems to me it may be time to punt this political football, or join a union. Please excuse my political view. “Everything in your life is a reflection of a choice you have made.
