I am sure you all will represent us well. To Ron, Bob, Sarah and Carol, thank you for putting yourselves out there and offering to do what’s needed to keep our community the place we all know, love, and take pride in. THANK YOU for caring. A question was posed to me last week, about a balance sheet for the village? Well, if you have ever wondered, our balance sheet is the annual fiscal budget adopted every April. We have revenue that comes in from your tax dollars, some utilities royalties and county sales tax sharing. We put those numbers up against our expenditures o f A e m p l o y e e s , b e n e f i t s , A p r o j e c t , equipment etc. in an effort to make everything come out even, being offset by the tax rate. The same person asked why would the Mayor ' s Corner village be interested in extending East Ave. and put in a PUD? A few factors the board has looked at, the county sales tax sharing is going down roughly 200K a year and a new 40- year agreement in place that does not take into consideration the rate of inflation for the term of the agreement. As with all of you the cost of goods and services has seen a drastic increase, snow plows, lawn mowers, and run- on gas. Health care is not going down, we employ roughly 20 employees. If someone has an idea on how we are supposed to offer the same services with less money the board will gladly listen. Our next meeting will be at the Memorial Auditorium on November 17th at 7:00 pm. and will have a public hearing on a Cannabis opt out for a dispensary in the village. We will also revisit the plan for East Ave. and the proposed PUD. When Jaden Cane asked his grandmother how her day was, she answered “ not good it’s Monday” his reply is my quote of the day “ good thing there is only one Monday a week” pretty good outlook.
