LE ROY PENNYSAVER & NEWS - NOVEMBER 14, 2021 The Rotary Club of LeRoy held its weekly meeting at the Creekside. The meeting started with the pledge of allegiance and the four-way test. Three Seniors from the High School were in attendance. Brock Flint, Skyler Radley, and Oliana Steffenilla were introduced by a Rotarian and asked ton tell us about their plans after graduation. President Ben made several announcements. The club will be sponsoring a holiday light contest for cash prizes. The towns eligible for the contest are Stafford, LeRoy, and Pavilion. The Community Kitchen is looking for Volunteers to help out on the 2 & 4 Tuesdays of every month. Please talk to Christine Gephart if you would like to help. Scott McCumiskey reported that the Appliance raffle had a great turn out. President Ben then moved on to the fining session. Sam Vagg was fined for getting new furniture for her new home. Bob Carlsen was fined for attending his first Buffalo Bills game in over 10 years. He was able to go with his family. Randy Vink was fined for receiving a Cowboy hat at his retirement party. Bob Benett predicted a Buffalo Bills victory on Sunday with Josh Allen throwing over 300 yards against Jacksonville. President Ben spoke today about the Rotary Youth Exchange. The program had to pivot when COVID came and is done all virtual with students using Zoom to talk to each other from other countries. The In-person Youth Exchange is planned to start back up in June 2022. The next meeting will be held the evening of Thursday November 11, 2021. I am humbled beyond words. Thanks for all the kind words and encouragement during this whole process. It’s been educational for sure.
