LE ROY PENNYSAVER & NEWS - NOVEMBER 21, 2021 by Greg “Porp” Rogers Thursday will be Thanksgiving; on behalf of the village board and our staff we like to extend our best wishes and hope everyone has Happy Thanksgiving. This one will be special as many of us last year weren’t able to celebrate with our families. Every year I would like to mention the things from the mayor’s office that he is thankful for. The Department heads who all give 100% to the community every day, Having Eileen, Steve, Greg and Bob keep this village running and safe, we could not be in better hands and I am truly blessed to have such a competent support group, they really make it easy to be the Mayor. Katie has been a great addition to our team, and we extremely lucky to have had Sharon stay on to help Eileen and Katie get up to speed, big shoes to fill. The DPW so time goes unnoticed for the work they do, but let someone see something not trimmed or a pot hole not fixed or leaves not picked up, and they will get noticed then, for the small number they do a big job. The wastewater plant ran by Steve Carrol with his staff of Andre’ and Rob, are literally award winning having gotten numerous awards over the last couple years, and they really do so much more to support the DPW and police departments. The Police department and the new chief Greg Kellogg is young, energetic and serve our village in a way a small-town force, community minded as well protecting us from those who want to do us wrong. We are fortunate to have these professionals working here. Thank You for your service. Others I would like to thank are Jake Whiting, village attorney, Clark Patterson Lee our engineering firm, who seems to have been the go-to for everything this year (priceless) Our Fire department and ambulance and all the other organization that make LeRoy a great place to live.
