Feel good about the places you support and patron! by Jim Farnholz Supervisor, Town of LeRoy (585)768-6910 ext.231 I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year. As we bring 2021 to a close, I want to bring everyone up to date on some of the accomplishments of the past year. 2021 has been a challenging year for all of us. It also marked some major accomplishments for the Town and the Village that were made possible by both Boards the Mayor and myself working together. I would like to thank all of them for their hard work and support. Here are some of the highlights from the past year: The Town and Village have purchased an ice- skating rink that will be put up in Trigon Park. Delivery is expected by mid-January. All we need then is some cold weather. The Town and Village have reinstated a contract with the Village Police to give them jurisdiction in the Town as well as the Village. While they will not be patrolling the Town, they are free to respond to calls in the Town when manpower allows. This addresses a possible delay in response time to residents of the Town. I also want to thank Chief Kellog for his hard work and cooperation with this agreement for the past year. Finally, the Town and Village have pooled resources and joined together in the construction of a spray pad at Wildwood Park. We have agreed on a design and hope to open by Memorial Day 2022. For many in our community 2021 marked a year of loss. Whether from Covid or other causes I would like to extend my condolences for all those who lost someone in 2021. As we enter 2022 with a potential surge in Covid infections I would encourage everyone to consult with their healthcare provider in making a decision on vaccination. Once again, I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I hope to see you around town in 2022. Around Town The new Stafford Town Clerk hours are M, W, Th, F - 9am-12pm & 1-4pm Tues. - 3-7:30pm Open Saturdays during the month of January and September from 10am-12pm Stafford Residents may pay their taxes in person at the Town Hall.
