A special thank you to Jenn Gremer at the LeRoy Pennysaver who reconfigures my text and inserts photographs and who sent me the index of this past year’s articles. 1-10-21 - “Sign of the Times” - Collecting objects that reflect 2020. 1-17-21 - “September 23, 2009” - Checking the condition of the Henry Clay painting at the Senate after the January 6 incident at the Capitol in Washington. 1-31-21 - “The Four School Houses” - The four school houses in the Village. 2-07-21 - “National Jell-O Week” 2-14-21 - “LeRoy on the Underground Railroad” 2-21-21 - “The Culpepper Connection and George Washington” - Story of LeRoy’s African American connection to a county in Virginia. 2-28-21 - “The Votes Are In” - Voting for your favorite Jell-O flavor. 3-07-21 - “The Year of the Ox” - The connection between the ox cart in the transportation exhibit and the children’s book, “The Ox Cart Man”. 3-14 21 - “Saps Running” - Story of maple syrup. 3-21-21 - “Maps” - 4th grade school programs using old maps of LeRoy. 3-28-21 - “Flamingo Story” - Remember to put out your flamingos on April 1. 4-01-21 - “April 1 is for Trout” - Seth Green and James Annin Jr. and the trout farms in Caledonia. 4-11-21 - “Ruthie We Will Miss You” - Obituary for Ruth Harvie. 4-18-21 - “The Last Segregated School in New York” - Esther Stevenson from LeRoy taught in the last segregated school in New York. 4-25-21 - “The Wizard of Oz and Jell-O” - The four Frank Baum books published by Jell-O. 5-02-21 - “Adding to the Collection” - A sneak preview of the Arnold Kelly Collection. 5-09-21 - “A tragic Story” - Justus Miles Forman, born in LeRoy was a famous author and died on the Lusitania. 5-16-21 - “May Calendar” of events. 5-23-21 - “Signs on the Underground Railroad” - Finally, the UGRR historic marker is placed on the East Bethany Road near Route 5. 5-30-21 - “Thank You for Your Service” - A tribute to Sherm Booten. 6-06-21 - “A Little Art Show” - A joint project between the Library and the Historical Society, showcasing small pieces of Ingham University art. 6-13-21 - “How to Be a Virtual Pioneer” - The development of student booklets for the Fourth Graders on butter churning, quilting, and old fashioned games. 6-20-21 - "Gelatina – A Jell-O Story” - Mexican Jell-O. 6-27-21 - “Gas Gauge” - A wooden gas gauge stick from Townsend Oil. 7-04-21 - “Tackle Boxes” - An exhibit at library includes information about the Jell-O tackle box and Union Steel Chest. 7-11-21 - “Cannons, Fireworks and Anvils” - How American’s celebrated the Fourth of July. 7-18-21 - “A Historical Salute” - The story of the promotion of Colonel Becky Wetzel. 7-25-21 - “Well, Well, Well” - Early methods of bringing water to the surface. 8-01-21 - “Barn Quilt Exhibit” - A project to have students paint miniature barn quits for an exhibit at the Town Hall. 8-08-21 - “Jell-O Wagon Comes to the Historical Society” - The Belluscio show wagon is donated. 8-15-21 - “Chocolate Jell-O” – Chocolate Jell-O, not pudding. 8-22-21 - “Run Rabbit Run” – The story of Tom McGinnis’ grandfather, Rabbit Maranville, who is in the Baseball Hall of Fame. 8-29-21 - “An Architectural Treasure” - The Klinbeil 1860 pump house. 9-05-21 - “Never Take Water For Granted” - How water was brought to the Village of LeRoy. 9-12-21 - “Twenty Years Ago” - Reflections on 9-11. 9-19-21 - “Earl Price” - A member of the Harlem Hellfighters who was from LeRoy and is buried in the Myrtle Street cemetery. 9-26-21 - “Water Pressure” - Fire companies helping to keep water pressure for fire hydrants. 10-03-21 - “Chimneys” - New chimney on LeRoy House and other chimneys in the village. 10-10-21 - “The Eighth Heavy Artillery” - Looking for members of this Civil War unit. 10-17-21 - “A Northern Spy” - Early apples. 10-24-21 - “Sauerkraut” 10-31-21 - “Baseball and General Foods” - The story of Maxwell House Coffee factory built on the first baseball field. 11-07-21 - “Veterans Day – Operation Green Light” 11-14-21 - “LeRoy House Will be Open for the Christmas Holidays” 11-21-21 - “How to Keep a Turkey in Suspense” - Funny story of a turkey that got into trouble. 11-28-21 - “Not an Ordinary Orange” - Looking for Osage orange trees. 12-05-21 - “History of LeRoy’s Christmas Trees” 12-12-21 - “Weather Reporting in LeRoy” - Weather in 1888. 12-19-21 - “A New Christmas Tradition” - The special tree at LeRoy House. 12-26-21 - “StayingWarm Before the Fireworks on NewYear’s Eve” - Invitation to LeRoy House on NewYear’s Eve. 2021 In Review
