MUSEUM QUILT GUILD - is meeting on March 19th at 9:30am at the VA Medical Center, 2nd Floor, 222 Richmond Avenue, Batavia, NY. by Greg “Porp” Rogers After a very snow filled February, it looks like we will have a lot of pot holes and the DPW will be out in force fixing these as soon as possible. A couple of years ago we invested in a hot box which allows us to fill these with hot patch as opposed to cold patch. The hot holds much better and last longer. This should help keep the streets in much better condition. The village will be doing a sewer audit. This has no bearing on single family homes. We will be making sure that each user is charged for at least the quarterly minimum. This means if a building has three apartments, there should be 3 different bill even if there is 1 water meter. The water usage portion of the bill can go on one of the bills but the other 2 at least have to pay the minimum surcharge. This is nothing new, but is the way it is supposed to be. Election Day is coming on March 15 th. at the Village Hall on 2 West Main St. from noon until 9 pm. Your candidates are Bill Kettle, Rich Tetrault and Bill Lambert. Please make an effort to come out and support your choice, you can vote two. The splash park has been ordered, with the hopes we will have it up and running by the start of the summer season. It promises to be a fine addition to the quality of life in LeRoy. The first time I heard this quote was from my grandfather Sam Whalen, maybe not as elegant as Abraham Lincoln but the same message. “Thou is far better to be thought a fool, than to open thy mouth and remove all doubt” Mayor's Corner
