LE ROY PENNYSAVER & NEWS - MAY 29, 2022 Submitted by Jon Privitera Yankees 6 Twins 0 - Jude Christ and Michael Warner combined to pitch the second straight no-hitter for Yankees in Little League action this week. Jude went the first 4 innings to earn the win and Michael tossed the final 2 – the duo combined for 13 strikeouts. The Yankees offense was led by Jude (2 hits, 3 runs), Michael (2 hits, 2 RBI), and Anthony Warner who collected 2 RBI with 2 doubles. Austin Silvernail also hit safely for the Yanks. Peyton Privatera started on the mound for the Twins and was relieved by Kylie Wilson. Yankees 7 Tigers 2 - The Yankees defeated the Tigers 7-2 using their trademark solid pitching and timely hitting. Michael Warner pitched 5 1/3 strong innings to earn the win and was relieved by Austin Silvernail who picked up the final 2 outs. On offense the Yanks were led by a 4 for 4 batting performance by Anthony Warner who also scored 3 times. Jude Christ, Austin Silvernail, Michael Warner, Ryan O’Geen, and Blake Biracree each stroked hits for the Yankees. Biracree’s hit was a solid 2-RBI double in the 5th inning. On defense for the Yankees Anthony threw out 2 base runners attempting to steal, Blake Fetzer made a nice catch in left field, and Jude Christ made several nice plays at shortstop. For the Tigers both Riker Vangalio and Drew Beached rapped out 2 hits apiece and Logan Kanaley also hit safely in the game. Yankees 7 Red Sox 5 - Jude Christ led the Yankees to a win over the Red Sox. Jude was 2 for 2 at the plate with 2 RBI, and his towering home run to deep left center field opened the scoring for the Yanks. AnthonyWarner smashed 2 doubles and collected 3 RBI’s. Austin Silvernail, Michael Warner, Blake Biracree, and Lucas Miller all collected hits for the Yanks. Anthony Warner was once again solid on the mound as he recorded his 5th pitching victory of the season while striking out 12 and allowing only 2 hits. Austin Silvernail relieved and struck out 3 batters in the final inning for the save. Ethan Rose provided a strong pitching start for the Red Sox against the tough Yankee lineup and was relieved by Colton Halladay. Offensively for the Sox, Pauly Winters, Colton Halladay, and Jayden Duyssen each hit safely and Halladay scored 3 runs and provided some daring base running as he successfully stole home twice.
