There really hasn’t been anything exciting going on. We ran into a snag at the splash park. We needed to extend the water line and a pressure relief valve. This work has been done and we will be ready for the opening next summer. In a combined effort the Village, Town and pool committee had to purchase a new pool cover. We are in the process of grinding and resurfacing a couple of streets, this fall. Those streets are Mill, St. Marks and Munson St. Extension. The DPW is doing a little house cleaning at the Village Hall starting with installing a new floor, and will be painting soon. It needed it. With school starting we have two new resource officer in the school this year, Austin Steinbrenner will be in the Wolcott St. campus and Steve Cappotelli will be in the high school. Our sewer plant project keeps moving forward and is on schedule. Main St. unveiled 4 new historically themed benches; Sarah Farmer who as President of the South Clinton St. Merchants Association did this type of project there and now is bringing the same ideas to LeRoy. This is the streetscape part of our Main St. grant. To try to keep the momentum going the F.R.E.S.H committee and the village will be applying for a New York forward grant, with a larger focus area. If we are fortunate enough to get it, it would make a huge difference. I think you would agree that, Main St looked exceptionally good this year with the hanging baskets and flowers. Generously donated by the F.R.E.S.H committee and the Vic Blood foundation. We have not had these in recent years and made a very noticeable difference. The DPW did a great job watering these and keeping them alive and vibrant. It is great to see, despite the tough economic time LeRoy as a whole has momentum going in a positive direction and it comes from everybody working together and being proactive “ Life is like a roll of toilet paper, the closer you are to the end, the faster it goes” GED Brady Mayor's Corner C L A S S I F I E D S We wish to thank all the friends and neighbors for thier prayers, love and sympathy at the loss of our wife and mother, Judy Brown A special thanks to the Plum Unit and staff at the WC Skilled Nursing Facility and to the Robinson and Hackemer Funeral Home.
