Her early fascination with a giant whale that blew real bubbles and recognition of the impact of good storytelling set Dianna on a path that currently finds her as Associate Director of Production at Syracuse Stage. With a firm belief that theater has the power to transform us into better version of ourselves, she thrives on managing the teams that create magic for audiences. Along with serving as Production Manager for the Syracuse University Department of Drama, she teaches in the BFA in Stage Management program. Specialties: Process of Production, Collaboration & Communication Skills, Health and Safety in Theater. Joan Luther of Naples, NY has been active in all aspects of educational and community theater for over 50 years. She is a Roving Adjudicator for the Theatre Association of New York State. She was awarded the Mary Eva Duthie Award for significant contributions to community theatre in 2010. Joan received the David C. Bryant Outstanding Service Award at AACTFest 2017. Joan’s work in community theater included bringing AACTFest 11 to Rochester, NY, serving as co-chair, Ms. Luther was instrumental in helping AACT celebrate its 25th birthday. Having retired from the Ontario County Board of Elections, she is active in many community organizations. She is a past president of the Naples Library Board and has recently been the Vice President of the Eastern States Theatre Association(ESTA). She currently serves as President of the Friends of the Bristol Valley Playhouse, Inc Board of Directors, a regional theater in her hometown. Technical Note From RCT The Rome Community Theater technical staff is excited to welcome all into its facilities. The staff will provide technical facility and scheduling information as soon as the theater activities are decided upon. The information will also include Festival contacts. Feel free to contact them with any questions. Please leave a message if the phone is not answered and they promise to get back to you. Even though this is not a national year, RCT plans to follow the typical rules- start/end in a 10x10 box, 10 minutes of load-on and off the bare stage. Make plans now about how you will transport and erect your set. When the adjudicators meet to choose the Festival performance slots there is only three weeks to Festival. If you haven’t at least made some plans you may find yourself scrambling! RCT is excited about sharing our space with your company. TANYS continues to promote excellence in theater communities. We hope you will join us at Festival for whether your company has a show or not.
