www.tanys.org Callboard - Volume XVIII • Issue 2 • Fall 2021 Page 9 Note From the Festival Registration Desk Hope everyone had a safe summer and are getting to enjoy some theater events! Believe it or not, the 2021 TANYS Festival is just around the corner! As your registrar for the Festival, I have a few reminders to make your experience easier. Being a member of TANYS will save you some money. And, buying a Superpass for the one-day Festival will entitle you to attend all performance sessions and lunch. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. There are four categories – Non- Member, TANYS Member, Qualified Participant or Student. TANYSMember means that you don’t just belong to a theater company who is a member of TANYS, but that you are a paid individual member of TANYS. If you joined TANYS in October-November in 2020 you are still considered a member for this upcoming Festival. If you have any questions regarding your membership status please contact TANYS at info@tanys.org. A Qualified Participant is an approved participant at the Festival such as Board Members, Adjudicators, Festival Committee, or actors, crew members, directors, authors or tech crew for participating theater companies invited to the Festival. Qualified participants for a participating company must be listed on the group’s registration form to get the Qualified Participant rate. Students are high school or college students with a current student ID. Please bring a Student ID with you to check in at the TANYS registration table. If you’re not getting a Superpass, move down to the A LA CARTE section and circle the items you want to attend under the category that applies to you. People who are only going to perform and not attend the other session will not need to pay, but if you plan on attending the other session you must pay the appropriate Qualified Participant fee for the other session. Again this year, you can register online or by mail. If you chose to register online go to www.tanys.org . To register by mail please complete a registration form (one per person) and put your check made payable to TANYS in the mail no later than Friday, November 12th. Anything postmarked after that date will incur a late fee of $10 so don’t delay – register early!! Please pay attention to the special COVID protocols listed on page 2. Rome is so excited to be planning this year’s one-day Festival. We are happy that we will have a chance to be together to enjoy some theater. Sharon Parker TANYS Registrar PO Box 4143, Rome NY 13442 registertanys@gmail.com 315-337-3254 Important Festival Considerations If you have any special dietary needs for lunch at this Festival, contact the Festival registrar at the contact information on the Festival registration form. Another reminder that is in this newsletter a couple times is that all attendees MUST prove vaccination and Photo ID as explained in detail on page 2 of this Callboard. The theater will open one hour prior to the time of the opening ceremony. Please plan to come early to partake in other Festival activities and also to ensure everyone gets into the auditorium so the theater activities can start on time. Inside your goody bag will be a coupon for $5 off a merchandise purchase meeting the minimum purchase requirement. Come early to browse the Festival offerings. Inside of your goody bag will be a Festival evaluation form. We would love for you to fill it out and drop if off at the registration desk before leaving for home. But if you forget or would prefer to fill it out at home, you can mail it back to TANYS. Or, this year, an on-line option will once again be offered if you prefer that method of responding. TANYS loves your feedback to plan for future Festivals. Deadline for giving feedback is Dec. 1. The awards ceremony this year will include the announcement of the BMI awards, presentation of the TANYS 2021 virtual awards, presentation of the 2021 TANYS merit awards as well as the people’s choice and the Festival adjudicator awards. We hope you stay to honor your colleagues at this session of the Festival. The final event of the Festival is a talk back session with adjudicator Joan Luther. This is the time during Festival to ask any questions of the adjudicator. You can ask specific questions on your show at that time or any general adjudication type questions. Please plan to attend. All in all, we hope you choose to join us in Rome for this happy gathering. When in Rome, do as the Romans do. Enjoy, and looking forward to seeing all of you.
