Our newest, ongoing fundraiser is a Vintage Jewelry and Costume Sale in conjunction with The Bristol Valley Theater, Naples, NY. Our first year earned us over $700 which helps defray adju- dication costs. We sell our jew- elry and costumes at the Naples Grape Festival in early autumn and at the TANYS Festival in November. While spring cleaning, sort your jewelry and consider donating to TANYS. Clean out that cos- tume shop. Hats, cloaks and 60’s clothing are great sellers. It is tax deductible and recycling at its finest. And don’t forget to stop by the Vintage Jewelry Sale at Festival and buy some bling for banquet. Text Joan Luther at 585 245 2341 for donations or for more information. Eastern States Theater Association Festival 2019 ESTAFest 2019 is right around the corner. An unusually dark festival but remember that all the shows presented at festival are what the ad- judicators see throughout the year. It seems like those are the type of shows that are being presented in this time of uncertainty. This Festival was unique in that a last-minute withdrawal for Friday night allowed the showcase presentation of a very moving piece on mental health pre- sented by Lori Schneider. I would like to acknowledge and thank the Festival Tech Crew: Autumn Brewer, Stage management; Rob Fragoman, Lights; Jim Gadsby, Sound and Tony Saurini, General Stagehand (he used to be a Major but I de- cided to promote him this year!) It was a pleasure and a privilege to work with you all; your commitment and competence helped make the festival a success. I would be remiss if I did not thank the crews who came with each company to set up and execute the tech for your performance. You all made the actors comfortable so they could successfully do what they needed to do- Ya did good! Finally, I wish to acknowledge and thank the administration of Cayuga Community College for their assistance in hosting the TANYS Festival for the past 6 years. CCC is a welcoming facility that works hard to make TANYS comfortable. TANYS is welcome to come back after some time away so the local crew can simply go to a festival and enjoy the hard work of the hosts in Rome! And Oh yeah, I suppose I should also thank the Festival Chair/ VP of Festival my wife Ann for allowing me to remain as Festival TD, even as she drove me crazy! I do miss the Pie-in-the-face fundraiser though! Now THAT was fun! Adjudicator Discretionary Award Excellence in Props & Stage Dressing - Emily Klucinec for Rabbit Hole
