www.tanys.org Callboard - Volume XVII • Issue 1 • Spring 2020 Page 6 TANYS Jewelry Fundraiser The Theatre Association of New York State wants your bling. Our largest TANYS fundraiser is a Vintage Jewelry Sale in conjunction with The Bristol Valley Theater, Naples, NY. Last year TANYS earned $384 which helps defray Festival costs. We sell our jewelry at the Naples Grape Festival in early autumn and at the TANYS Festival in November. While spring cleaning, sort your jewelry and consider donating to TANYS.. It is tax deductible and recycling at its finest. And don’t forget to stop by the Vintage Jewelry Sale at Festival and buy some bling for the banquet. Text Joan Luther at 585 245 2341 for donations or for more information. Note From Festival Chair John Parker Another TANYS Festival is in the books. Rome Community Theater (RCT) hosted the event which lived up to prior TANYS standards. Any Festival is not just the work of one person. I would like to first thank the RCT Board led by President Barb Seaton who initially approved the Rome Festival application and assisted me in many ways working tirelessly to support it. Many went above and beyond and I appreciated it. This includes others who worked tirelessly as my committee: Barbara Seaton, Arnold and Chris Galin, Mike and Laura Sharp, Sharon and AJ Parker and Ella Alsheimer. Next, I would like to thank my RCT backstage crew headed by John Frank and John Doiron. They worked with all the companies using our new facility, Fred’s Shed in concert with getting it ready for RCT use. There were a few bumps in the road but my crew did an excellent job considering this was our first year of Festival since ESTA 2010. The TANYS Board is also thanked for their tireless support. Ann Frame VP of Festival answered my many phone calls throughout. Bob Frame worked with our tech crew to prepare them for what I got us into. Cindy Nagle supported the finances and had an opinion now and then. President Colleen Law-Tefft manned the membership table, with Michael Krickmire, Diane Mashia, and Charlie Cooper ran our 50-50 raffle on Saturday. Joan Luther and Brian Daily brought the TANYS Jewelry for sale. When I sat down and counted our RCT volunteers I was very surprised. I had 45 people from Rome who stepped up to my plea “would you do so and so at Festival” and did their duties to make the visitors to Rome feel at home. Now, onto Festival 2020!
