Callboard
Callboard - Volume XIX • Issue 1 • Spring 2022 www.tanys.org Page 5 Note from the TANYS Administrative Secretary Here are a few items of note which occurred over the last year. At the Annual Meeting at Festival 2021, the following slate of officers was approved by the membership: Michael Krickmire, President; Cindy Nagle, Treasurer; Bob Frame, Member At-Large and Joey Buchecker, Member At-Large. In an oversight, the following positions were omitted from the slate: Colleen Law-Tefft, Immediate Past President and Craig Hutchison, Member At-Large. President Krickmire and the Board appointed these personnel to those open positions at the TANYS February Board meeting. Lastly, the Board of Trustees appointed Joan Luther to the remaining open Member At-Large slot at the same meeting. Just as last year, due to the pandemic, TANYS is waiving late fees for organizations paying their TANYS membership after March 31. Thus, the rates will not rise from $75 as they do in a normal year. This is reflected in the forms in this issue of Callboard . We hope your organization is doing well financially, and that you consider rejoining TANYS and taking advantage of our adjudication services. Individual membership fees are also the same as last year, so we hope those of you who have not yet renewed will do so TODAY! TANYS appreciates your support. Lastly, nominations of high school seniors for the Ruth R. Legg Memorial Scholarship are due by May 15, so we hope our current individual and organizational members consider suggesting students apply - or nominate qualified students themselves. We would LOVE to award this to a deserving senior this year. Information on this and other TANYS awards is also noted below. As always, if you have any questions on this information or on anything related to TANYS, feel free to contact me, John Parker at info@tanys.org. Hope to see you at Festival 2022! Ruth R. Legg Memorial Scholarship The Ruth R. Legg Memorial Scholarship is given by TANYS to a current high school senior who has been very active in community theatre and is accepted as a Theatre major or minor at an accredited college or university. This scholarship was organized to honor Ruth and carry on her tradition of promoting students interested in theatre. Please go to the TANYS website for further requirements and an application. Due to COVID delays with schools reopening, we have extended the deadline to apply from May 1 to May 15, 2022. Also, check out the Awards link to find all the other awards available for members. TANYS welcomes member input and suggestions for these awards. Heather Strauss Costume Design Award 10 Minute Play Festival Sullivan County Dramatic Workshop
