Joy • Call 768-8497 CALVARY G Mayor's Corner by Greg "Porp" Rogers Last Saturday evening it was my pleasure to once again attend the LeRoy Volunteer Fire Department’s annual awards dinner. The de- partment responded to 419 calls and did 1500 hours of training, while serving the community. In many other ways beyond fire- fighting, some of which were the 75 calls during the power outage last March. A special commendation went to Rob Radley and Fay Fuerch for their efforts assisting a heart attack victim in the Save -a-Lot park- ing lot. Fire Fighter of the Year went to Kevin McCrary. It was great to see a young person being so dedicated to helping his fellow man. My wife Jody and I want to thank, Chief Tim Hogle, First Chief Tom Wood and Second Chief Craig Johnson and the whole depart- ment for a wonderful evening. The work the department does is truly appreciated, thanks to you and your families for the sacrifice. It has been brought to my attention that even though we have had snow we have some issues that need to be addressed as far as dog waste and sidewalk clearing. Please pick up after your dog. The snow will melt and their handy work will be exposed, so let’s show respect for our community and others walking on the sidewalk. While it is the homeowner’s responsibility to clean the sidewalks, the village plows as a courtesy, however many times driveways are plowed later leaving a large snow pile on the sidewalk, if possible it would be nice to have these cleared too. Thank You for your antic- ipated cooperation. Monday night Feb. 5th at 7: 00 the Village Board will hold a public hearing regarding the Vacant Building Registry at 3 W. Main St. “ Everyday is a holiday, every meal is a feast” I’m not sure who said it but I like it.
