off their season playing in the
Lukeys Legacy Tournament in
West Seneca that ran fromMon-
day,March1th–Sunday,March,
20th. TheLukey’s LegacyTour-
nament is a Squirt A level tour-
nament for house teams. 8 teams
from thegreaterBuffaloareaand
Pennsylvania took part in this
event. The FalletiMotors Squirt
ABataviaRampartsaremadeup
of players fromBatavia, LeRoy,
Stafford,MedinaandAlexander:
Justin Valyear, Anna Stevens,
Tyler McClurg, Tyler Kidder,
XavierArmstrong-Hill,Addison
Warriner, Matt Rogers, Brennan
Pedersen, Andrew Jursted, Will
Eschberger, Robert McCarthy,
Evan Crane and Gino Falleti.
Coaches are Joe Eschberger and
Glenn McClurg of LeRoy, Pete
Stevens of Stafford and Chad
Valyear of Alexander. Team
Manager is Melissa Valyear.
Dillon Kidder joined the team
onSunday to roundout the roster
due to some absent teammates.
TheRampartsplayed theirfirst
game of the tournament Friday
the 18th at 7:50 pm against East
Aurora. East Aurora led the first
period scoring with a 1-0 lead.
The2ndperiod sawagoal netted
by each team. In the 3rd period
the Ramparts took and held the
lead for a 3-2 win! All 3 goals
were scored by Tyler Kidder of
Batavia, giving him a hat trick!
GoalieRobertMcCarthy ofMe-
dina reached a career milestone
during this game racking up an
impressive 400 saves for the
2015-2016 season. Tyler Kidder
was named gameMVP!
Game 2 for the ramparts took
place on Saturday, the 19th
against West Seneca. The Ram-
parts took the leadearlyandnever
let go. The game ended in a 7-0
win for theRamparts.During this
game we saw a breakaway goal
scored early in the 1st period by
Will Eschberger of LeRoy fol-
lowedby another 1st periodgoal
netted by Tyler Kidder. In the
2nd period both Kidder and Es-
chberger chalked up assistswith
a Kidder to Addison Warriner
goal and an Eschberger toMatt
Rogersgoal.The thirdperiodwas
ledoffbyanunassistedgoal from
AnnaStevens of Stafford, a goal
by Kidder assisted by Warriner
and picture perfect Eschberger
toRogers toStevengoal to round
out the game. Matt Rogers was
hailed as gameMVP!
Game 3 was played a few
hours later when the Ramparts
took on the Wheatfield Blades.
Period one had goals scored by
Will Eschberger of LeRoy and
Tyler Kidder of Batavia, along
with a Wheatfield goal leading
to a period ending score of 2-1.
In the 2nd period Wheatfield
scored again, with an answered
goal byKidder for Batavia. The
Ramparts took back the lead in
period3withagoalbyEschberg-
er, and aKidder goal assistedby
Anna Stevens of Stafford. The
Rampartsskatedawaywitha5-2
victory.TylerMcClurgofLeRoy
was named gameMVP!
Game 4 of the tourney for the
Ramparts (and the 3rd game of
the day Saturday) took place at
6 pm against the West Seneca
White Sabres. The Ramparts
wereprettymuchout ofgasafter
a late game the night before and
2 games earlier in the day, but
TylerKidderofBataviacameout
strong tonetagoalearly in the1st
periodand then theRampartsasa
wholeheld theirground tosecure
a 1-0win and a secure a spot in
the Semi-Final round of play!
JustinValyear of Alexander was
named gameMVP!
Game5 for theRampartswasa
Semi-Final gameagainst theDe-
pewSaints.Thegame startedout
festively as the entire rink sang
“Happy Birthday” to Rampart
AnnaStevensofStafford inhon-
or of her entry to double-digits!!
The festivities quickly came to a
halt and the winning streak for
theRampartscame toanendwith
a decisive 7-0 loss to theSaints.
Goaltender Robert McCarthy
ofMedinawasawarded the tour-
nament MVP, a true honor and
one that was verywell-deserved
and hard-earned!
In other Rampart news ... the
14U,16Uand18U teamsall took
place in theStateTournaments in
Buffalo fromMarch18-20th.The
weekend prior (March 11-13)
saw tournament play for the Pee
WeeA team inCheektowaga,The
PeeWeeB team inBrockportand
theSquirt B team inBrockport!
The regular season has drawn
