Notes for June 8th
Itwas a little tempestuous out-
side, but President TonyGugino
settledourspiritsandencouraged
us to be gifts to the world as he
opened the meeting at about
12:15 pm lastWednesday!
After the
PledgeofAllegiance
,
Grace
and the Four-Way Test,
our guests were introduced:
JohnMcClurg of the PerryClub
complimented our club on our
honesty and transparency since
he received his winnings from a
previousmeeting fromwhich he
had to leave early. In response,
he donated the funds back to
our Club! Our second guest was
CandyCadell of SunshineNurs-
ery School. She accepted our
check from President Tony and
thankedus for thedonation from
our cluband toldushow itwould
be used to enhance the lives of
the children.
Announcements:
President
Tony noted the upcoming pro-
gramsand the fact that theBoard
would meet next Wednesday
at 5:30 in joint session for the
incoming Board as well as the
outgoing Board. He also noted
that our next Thirsty Thursday
get-togetherwill be5:30on June
16th at the Smokin’ Eagle, the
Rotary Excited About Litera-
ture (REAL) book collection to
take place on June 25th and the
InstallationDinner on June 29th
at the Village Inn. Finally, he
announced that theBataviaClub
is looking forhelp tohandleextra
crowds at the Father’s Breakfast
at theBataviaAirport.
Several folks “donated to the
cause” formissingmeetings due
towork and other quasi-excuses
includingMarciaMcKenzie,Tim
Moag, Bruce Baker, and Ben
Deragon. Others garnered some
“special recognition” in the form
ofmodestfines including: Chris-
tie LoTempio, June Dusen, Bob
Sullivan,ScottMcCumisky,Ron
Pangrazio, andSamantha Vagg.
Our program was provided
by Nanette Chiulli who gave a
very engaging and entertaining
“Birthday Talk”. The sixth of
eight children, she was blessed
withagreat familyand lotsof fun
memories. She graduated from
Pavilion High School and then
earned her certification in Cos-
metology. She has made count-
less womenmore beautiful than
theyalreadyare… insideandout!
She has branched out into skin
careand facials.She’smarried to
MikeChiulli who teaches biolo-
gy at LHS. In 2015, she opened
her own shop “Nanette’sHair&
Now” at 25 West Main Street,
LeRoy. She describedherself as
a crazyworkaholic and a charter
member of “Tutus, Tiaras, and
Boas” (watch for them having
fun in a local establishment near
you!). Her philosophy on life is
summed up by this statement:
“You’renever tooold toset anew
goal or to dream a new dream!”
Le Roy Rotary asks you to
consider becoming part of an
organization that is about to
eradicate polio from the earth,
contributes to numerous as-
sistance projects in over 100
foreign countries, and offers a
chance for everyone togiveback
to their community. Locally, we
provide over 30 scholarships to
local students annually, provide
engaging Appliance Raffle and
Graze toRaise events aswell as
manyother funevents.Whydon’t
